Ian Harrison D.A.I.R. D.O. MSc

Ian came to Hampshire, in 1992, after 4 years in London. Prior to this he worked in his then homeland of New Zealand via Australia. During his journey he has been a Radiographer and Osteopath, completed his Acupuncture training and has a research degree in Evidence Based Health Care from the University of Oxford. 

Ian trained in Acupuncture in Oncology and Palliative care at the Royal Marsden Hospital. 

Ian ran the Radiology Service at the Hampshire Clinic and was responsible for the Breast Cancer screening, and set up the Prostate Cancer Biopsy service and Bone Density Screening service. 

Ian started working with our late President Mr. Myrrdin Rees in theatres and outpatients 35 years ago and it was Merv who recruited him to help get the Ark Cancer Charity off the ground and treating patients. With the team at the Ark, Ian helped grow the Acupuncture and Complementary services supporting patients and treating the side effects of the cancer and cancer treatments. 

Ian also has a private clinic specialising in a ‘whole person’ approach to healthcare. Asked why he came to England his reply was the wonderful history, cutting edge research, live entertainment and nature around him. 

Ian loves music and has a broad- church approach from classic to rap, citing opera, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd amongst his streamed playlists. Ian will endeavour to join in with the choir as much as possible; that is unless his other passion – fishing – calls!
